Let me tell you all about a magic location for your wedding on the shores of Lake Wanaka, Olive Grove Wedding Venue is a private sanctuary that offers a picture perfect say “I do” location in Wanaka.
Situated on private property next to the very popular Rippon Hall, the Olive Grove wedding venue is, in my humble opinion, Wanaka’s best wedding venue. I do say this very light-hearted as the Olive Grove’s next door neighbour is also one of my favourite spots to celebrate a wedding. As with the pudding, it is all very much to the taste of the buyer.
Olive Grove Wedding Venue Details
Olive Grove Wedding Venue offers wide-angle views over Lake Wanaka and little Ruby island across the glacial blue waters. Your eye then slams into the mighty and dramatic Mt Gold jutting high next to Mt Burke. Where ever the eye wanders, the view is huge. To say it is stunning is almost insulting, as it does not come close to the power of the dramatic before you.
The Olive Grove has, would you believe, a grove of olives that make for a serene walkway into the venue. These well-established trees have a stunning hue of soft smoky green that transports you to old Europe.
Jill and John have created with love a space of established trees and rolling grass lawns to hold both a ceremony and a reception. Now, this is where the pudding comes in, as this location is a dry hire and everything needs to be brought on to the site to create your spaces, this includes marquees, kitchen and even your bathroom facilities.
The beauty of this is the blank canvas that there is to play with. With the heap of space, there are endless options to create a festival atmosphere with a high wire artists to entertain your guests or an all-day picnic with vintage blankets for your guests to spread out and soak up the view while sipping a gin cocktail loaded with ice.
If a view to say your vows to each other is what you after, then the Olive Grove has you covered on this. The venue can be chosen just for the “I do’s”. I would recommend that you bus your guests into the venue and then out again, so as to keep tabs on them and no one has a chance to get lost!
Caterers need to come with a mobile truck to be self-sufficient. Raspberry Creek Catering is an old hand at delivering at the Olive Grove and can design something to suit your style.
