Tips to Avoid Stress While Prepping for Your Wedding

While your wedding should be one of the best days of your life, the days leading up to the big event aren’t always the easiest!  Wedding planning can be super stressful and that stress can take a toll on you mentally and physically! While the stress may be inevitable, there are a number of ways to combat the side effects. Below are a four tips we suggest to ensure you feel your best inside and out on your wedding day!

Exercise

It’s no secret that exercise releases endorphins and reduces levels of hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol.  While wedding planning may leave you exhausted, it’s pivotal that you engage in some kind of exercise in order to maintain a low level of stress.  If you and your significant other are on the same schedules, try attending a gym together. If not, grab one of your friends and head to an aerobics class like zumba to get your heart pumping.  Leave the stress at the door, even if it’s for thirty minutes!

Get More Sleep

To avoid feeling stress, it’s recommended adults get seven to nine hours of sleep a night.  Put down the tulle and seating chart and get some rest! There are many different ways to wind down at the end of the night and each is specific to the individual, but the end result is the same; a great night sleep!  All your wedding tasks will still be there in the morning and you’ll have a much clearer thought process and execution plan if you’re well-rested!

Establish a Beauty Routine

It’s important to feel AND look your best on your wedding day and waiting until the last minute to do so can cause quite a bit of stress.  Investing in your hair, skin and nails can make a world of difference especially when it comes time to strike a pose for your wedding photos.  Brides, consider taking a multivitamin to support healthy hair, skin and nails.  Grooms, you also want to keep your hair looking thick and full for the wedding day and there are plenty of gummies that cater specifically to men on the market!  Getting ahead of the game on this will help to relieve stress and leave you feeling rewarded once you see the outcome in your wedding photos!

Reduce Your Caffeine Intake

You may think all the coffee you’re drinking is keeping you focused but in all reality, it’s stressing you out!  Caffeine is a stimulant and if consumed in excess it can actually increase stress and anxiety.  If you can’t kick the coffee habit, try switching to decaf, that way you’ll feed the craving without all the added stress!

All in all, your wedding day should be about you and the person you want to spend the rest of your life with, but in order to get there, you may have to endure some stressful situations.  Don’t let these stressful feelings get the best of you. Adhere to some of the tips above, or any other coping mechanisms you find work for you, and once the big day comes you’ll be able to put all the anxious feelings behind you and enjoy what’s to come!
